The Perfect Diaper Bag

I am what my friends call a "diaper bag junkie". I have bought over 10 diaper bags in the 3 1/2 years I have been a mom. I think it is an extension of trying to find the "perfect purse". I have read hundreds of online reviews of different bags and consulted many baby gear books. The diaper bag that has served me the longest and I absolutely love is my Fluerville Sling Tote.

Here's why I love this bag:

1. It is cute. It comes in many different fabrics. I have it in floral sky.

2. There are 2 pockets on the outside, one has a zippered pocket inside as well. This section is great for easy access of all my valuables (cell phone, wallet, etc). There's also a key fob in that section.

3. The bag has a couple different strap options, which I love. It can be a tote or a messenger bag. The tote straps tuck neatly in the outer pockets and the messenger bag strap is removable and adjustable.

4. It also comes with stroller attachments.

5. There's the ever-essential insulated bottle holder.

6. It zips closed, so nobody has to see all your junk inside.

7. Speaking of junk- there's a lot more room inside than you think. I tend to carry a lot of stuff with me, and it all fits nicely. Here's a list of what I have in it right now: a change of clothes for my almost potty trained toddler (shorts, underwear, t-shirt, socks), 4- size 2 diapers, wipes, 2 burp cloths, 2 onsies for my newborn (he's a spitter-upper), 2 granola bars, small box of raisins, 4 lollypops, bandaids, small pouch of Kleenex, baby Tylenol, small tube of Aquaphor, small tube of sunscreen, a roll of plastic bags (for dirty diapers), my wallet, cell phone, sunglasses case, keys, a sippy cup, crayons, 2 matchbox cars, and a baggie of goldfish. If you carry less than me, you are good to go!

8. It wasn't too expensive. I think I paid around $135.

I love this bag so much, that I have successfully convinced 4 of my friends in my mom's group to get the same bag, and they all love it. We look pretty silly when we all go out together, since between the 5 of us, we only have 2 different fabrics, but who cares!

After having my second son, I recently purchased the Fleurville MotherShip diaperbag, thinking that I would need the extra room (it is said to have 20% more space). I used it for about 2 months, and now I'm back to my Sling Tote. I do use the MotherShip bag when I need to carry a few more items, but for the day to day stuff, I love my Sling Tote!

Haven't heard great things about the skiphop. Some friends say it is too small, especially for the price.

This bag looks great and could definitely do double duty as a tote! Thanks!

I'm on my quest for a perfect diaper bag too....but really want one that can be worn like a backpack. My little guys about to start walking and I think I need my hands free! Any suggestions?
